MorgenGrauen is a native German LPmud. It was founded in 1992 and has been prospering since. The world features an original fantasy setting with many facets. The 13 domains form a big world with 18000 rooms to explore and several thousand NPCs. You can choose between 8 races and 13 classes (guilds). Advancing is done through a combination of exploration points, experience points, class skills, finished adventures and some more. The levels are not limited, current maximum is about 210. After becoming a high level player it's possible to become a wizard and add your own imagination to the game. We are especially proud of attracting a number of visually impaired players who very much enjoy playing a text based online RPG. Thats why we have an option to turn ascii-graphics off. Beutelland features fantasy themes of basically Tolkinian flavour, mixed with some Pratchett for good measure. In any case it doesn't take itself too seriously. Ardent readers of fantasy & science fiction literature and computer gamers who grew up in the 80s and 90s will surely encounter many allusions to classic genre representatives - but there is also plenty of whimsical entertainment for younger guests to discover. The world - mythically created by the holy Beuteltier (zool. marsupial, opossum) - contains differing cuulture & climate zones like rolling hills, mountains, dark woods, viking islands, dense jungle, and even outer space. Players can choose a hometown/region of their liking. Eligible races up to now include Dwarfs, Humans, Hobbits, and Elves; NPCs will show up in whatever form our coders imagination can spawn. (Items too.) Beutelland offers many features, such as colorfulness, an integrated map system, extralogins to display information (map, chat, inventory, ...) in multiple telnet sessions, etc. Guilds and Trades are under construction, but we offer 25+ Quests of increasing difficulty, lots of interesting regions to explore, treasures to find, monsters to kill, and of course interesting people to meet.
