Theme Window
Lociterm supports local UI options from the (⚙) 🠚 Settings 🠚 Theme menu. The
menu allows you to change the font size and button size to suit the device you
are playing from. You can also choose the location of the button grid menu and
the quick menu items, which is nice if you are left handed and playing from a
phone touch screen. If you are playing from a PC web browser, and don't want
to see the button grid at all until you hover your mouse over it, you can adjust its
fade out factor too.
The Line Mode option is an override for character-at-a-time mode Game
Servers. Normally, LociTerm will detect if a game is a Line Mode or Character
Mode system, and will only put the Line Mode text entry bar at the bottom of
the screen when the server can't support Character Mode. However, on some
mobile devices, it can be easier to enter command text with the line mode entry
bar. Checking this option forces LociTerm into line mode.
CRT Filters
CRT Filters
You can choose between different looks for LociTerm with the Theme
selector, including some retro-CRT terminal effects. The CRT effects can be
adjusted individually via the (⚙) 🠚 Settings 🠚 CRT Filter menu. CRT filter
options are unsupported on some older web browsers, and don't always render
correctly, so options can be individually disabled here.Green Screen
Local Hotkey Editor
Hotkey Editor
LociTerm has support for programmable hotkeys. Games with GMCP.Loci.Hotkey
support can download key definitions to LociTerm automatically and LociTerm can
edit the keys stored on the server. For games without that support, hotkeys
can be defined and edited locally. The hotkey editor is available under (⚙) 🠚
Settings 🠚 Hotkey Editor, and it has support for keys F1-F20, PgUp, PgDn, Home,
and End.
Hotkey Menu Buttons
On PC systems with physical keyboards, LociTerm remaps the keys so that when
they are hit, the appropriate key sequence or macro is sent. On all systems,
including mobile systems without keyboards, the hotkey macros are available as
quick menu items with the configured Menu Label.
The hotkey editor can either send up the function keycode, or the full text
of the hotkey macro definition. For games that support GMCP.Loci.Hotkey,
you'll usually want to send just the keycode. For games without server side
hotkey support, you should send the full Macro Text. In that case, each line
of the macro text is send as a separate command.
Line Mode Bar and the Word Stack
Line Entry Showing Word Stack
The line mode bar, when enabled, has controls to make touch screen play easier.
The up and down arrows on the left cycle through recent command history.
Command text can be entered into the line editor, and in many mobile browsers,
can be dictated with speech-to-text.
The Clip Board icon 📋︎ opens the Word Stack menu. To add a word to the
stack, double-tap on any on screen word. Touching a word stack quick menu
button will paste that word into the command line without having to type it.
The ↵ icon submits the current line to the game.
In general, Quick Menu buttons that end with ... will NOT send a command
immediately to the game. So if there was, say, a Cityguard in the room that
you wanted to consider, and possibly kill, you could double-tap the word
"Cityguard" to add it to the word stack, then hit the grid button 👁️ to bring
up the look menu, then Consider... 📋︎ cityguard... ↵. If you decide
to go for it, then 🔥 Kill... 📋︎ cityguard... ↵, all without having
to open the on screen keyboard.
